On the evening of September 20, Ningbo held a virtual work meeting with Duque de Caxias in Brazil. Mr. Antonio Carlos, International Affairs Commissioner of Duque de Caxias, Mr. Xu Yuansheng, Commercial Counselor of Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Rio de Janeiro, and other guests attended the meeting.

In the meeting, Mr. Chen Guomiao, Deputy Director-General of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office, briefly introduced Ningbo's recent economic development and foreign exchanges, and proposed plans and suggestions for the two cities' further friendly exchanges and cooperation in the future. Mr. Antonio Carlos expressed his wish to strengthen practical cooperation between the two cities in the fields of Chinese language education, vocational training, port logistics, economic and trade investment and so on. The two sides reached consensus on furthering friendly exchanges in the future.

Duque de Caxias is a satellite city of Rio de Janeiro and also the 3rd populous city in Rio de Janeiro state. Ningbo and Duque de Caxias established sister-city relationship in 2019.
