On March 15, Mr. TANG Feifan, Mayor of Ningbo, met with Mr. Chris Wood, UK Consul General in Shanghai, and his delegation. Mr. LI Guanding, Vice Mayor of Ningbo, and Mr. ZHU Jinmao, Secretary General of Ningbo Municipal Government, attended the meeting.

The mayor extended warm welcome to the consul general for his visit to Ningbo. Mayor TANG Feifan said that Ningbo and the UK had a long history of exchanges, close economic and trade exchanges and frequent people-to-people exchanges, which had yielded fruitful results in cooperation. He hoped that the UK Consulate General in Shanghai would continue to play its role as a bridge and tie in consolidating the sister-city exchanges between Ningbo and Nottingham, deepening bilateral cooperation and exchanges in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science, education and tourism and facilitating personnel exchanges, so as to better achieve mutually-beneficial development. Consul General Wood said that the UK attached great importance to its exchanges and cooperation with Ningbo, and as an important global port city, Ningbo had huge potential for cooperation with the UK in marine economy and marine affairs. He hoped that both sides would continue to deepen and expand fields of cooperation, enhance sister-city exchanges and promote the launch of more cooperation projects in Ningbo.

Director-General Ms. BAO Xianping and Deputy Director-General Mr. JIAO Shuanglin of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office also attended the meeting.

During Consul General Wood's trip in Ningbo, he visited INEOS Styrolution Polymers (Ningbo) Co., Ltd and IMarEST China Technology Centre, and met with heads of the Youngor Group and Ningbo Peacebird Fashion Co., Ltd.
