On May 19, Mr. Tang Feifan, Mayor of Ningbo, met with Mr. Peter Lizak, Ambassador of Slovakia to China, and his delegation, who visited Ningbo to participate in the 3rd China-CEEC Expo.
Mayor Tang extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Lizak's delegation. He said that Slovakia was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China, one of the most rapidly developing countries in Central and Eastern Europe in recent years, and an important member of China-CEEC cooperation. The economic and trade cooperation between Ningbo and Slovakia enjoyed good development momentum. He hoped that Ambassador Lizak would take this visit as an opportunity to consolidate the existing cooperation foundation, deepen and expand cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, culture, sister cities and so on, and take effective steps to carry forward the tradition of friendly exchanges between China and Slovakia.
Ambassador Lizak said that Slovakia and Ningbo had complementary industrial advantages and great potential for cooperation. He would continue to promote exchanges and cooperation in all fields between Slovakia and China as well as Slovakia and Ningbo, and actively participate in the development of China-CEEC Business Cooperation Demonstration Zone, thus achieving mutually-beneficial cooperation and development of a higher level and higher quality.
Other attendants included Mr. Xi Ming, Member of Party Leadership Group of the Municipal Government, Director of the Management Committee of Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone, Mr. Zhu Jinmao, General Secretary of the Municipal Government, Mr. Ye Rongzhong, Secretary of Party Leadership Group of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. Fei Xiaochen, Director-General of Ningbo Science & Technology Bureau.
During his trip in Ningbo, the Ambassador and his delegation also visited the 3rd China-CEEC Expo, and attended and delivered a speech at the 2nd China-CEEC Forum for Young Science & Technology Talents.
