From June 28 to 29, at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the delegation led by Ms. Victoria Woodards, Mayor of Tacoma, Washington, the US, visited Ningbo.

On the afternoon of June 28, Mr. ZHAO Haibin, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor of Ningbo Municipal Government, met with Mayor Woodards and her delegation.

Mr. ZHAO Haibin extended a warm welcome to Mayor Woodards and her delegation's visit to Ningbo. He said that with its long-term tradition of friendly exchanges with China, Tacoma was an important witness to China-US friendship. Sub-national cooperation and people-to-people exchanges were the source of vitality for the continuous development of China-US relationship. Ningbo cherished its friendly exchanges with Tacoma. He hoped that both sides would take this visit as an opportunity to further deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation and invigorate China-US sub-national friendly exchanges. He hoped that the two cities would work together to expand the room for economic and trade cooperation, actively build platforms for exchanges, and effectively promote enterprises to conduct investment and trade cooperation; deepen port connectivity, and strengthen exchanges and interactions in the fields of port development and management, logistics services and container transportation; promote educational and youth exchanges, jointly plan and carry out a wide variety of exchange activities, and deepen mutual understanding and respect; promote cultural and art exchanges, and build bridges for people-to-people exchanges.

Mayor Woodards said that Tacoma would like to join hands with Ningbo to promote practical exchanges and cooperation between the two cities in the fields of economy and trade, education, culture, scientific innovation and ports.

Mr. GAO Qingfeng, Vice Chairman of Ningbo Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. YE Rongzhong, Secretary of Party Leadership Group of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office and Level Ⅰ Bureau Rank Official, and Ms. BAO Xianping, Deputy Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Director-General of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office, attended the meeting.

During their stay in Ningbo, Mayor Woodards and her delegation also visited Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Ningbo Museum and ZEEKR Factory of Geely Automobile Company.
