At the invitation of Aachen, Germany, 19 students majoring in German from Ningbo University and Ningbo University of Technology visited Aachen to participate in the German-language summer camp. On August 6, Ms. Sibylle Keupen, Mayor of Aachen, met with the students from various countries who participated in the summer camp, and delivered a welcome speech. The head of the Aachen-Ningbo Sister-city Relationship Promotion Association also attended the meeting.
As a famous university city in Germany, Aachen officially established the sister-city relationship with Ningbo in 1986. With the joint efforts of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office and Aachen-Ningbo Sister-city Relationship Promotion Association in planning and promoting activities, Ningbo sent university students to Sprachenakademie Aachen (Aachen Language College) to participate in the one-month German-language summer camp for the first time.
Recently, the City Hall of Marrakech, Morocco received the students from the Ningbo University-University of Angers Joint Institute who would participate in the two-week summer camp in Morocco. Ms. Deya Benjelloun, Director of the International Department of the Marrakech Municipal Government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation of students from Ningbo, introduced the basic information of Marrakech and the friendly exchanges and cooperation between Ningbo and Marrakech, and answered the questions proposed by the students. During their stay in Marrakech, the students made an in-depth exploration of the ancient city, visited the historical and cultural museum, studied and experienced the Arabic language and culture, and felt the deep bond of friendship between the two cities.
As a renowned city of history and culture in Morocco, Marrakech officially established the relationship of friendly exchanges with Ningbo in 2007.
