From May 25 to 26, Mr. Marcelo Magnou Pérez, Consul General of Uruguay in Shanghai, visited Ningbo with his delegation.

On March 25, Ms. YE Miao, Member of Party Leadership Group of Ningbo Municipal Government and Director of Administrative Committee of Ningbo Economic and Technical Development Zone, met with the Consul General and his delegation. Ms. YE Miao extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced Ningbo's economic and social development. She hoped to work with the Consul General to promote exchanges and cooperation between Ningbo and Uruguay in the fields of economy and trade, culture, sports and sister cities. The Consul General expressed his gratitude to Ningbo's warm reception. He recalled his visited to Ningbo during the 2nd International Port Culture Festival, Ningbo·China, held in 2010. Then he noted the remarkable economic and social progress Ningbo has made over the past 15 years. Highlighting Ningbo's strong potential in economic development, he expressed hope for deeper bilateral cooperation in areas such as agricultural trade, education and sports, fostering mutual benefits and complementary advantages.

Mr. XU Xiaochang, Deputy Secretary-General of Ningbo Municipal Government, Ms. BAO Xianping, Director-General of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. YAN Weiguo, Chairman of CCPIT-Ningbo Committee, attended the related events.

During their stay in Ningbo, the Consul General and his delegation visited Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, China Port Museum, Zhejiang Geely Automobile Company, and Ningbobang Museum.
